Hi, can anyone tell me how you get the switch toggles off. This is the push-on operating lever (which has the wiper or headlight symbol on it). Looks as if they pull off, but dont want to break them.

What year is your HB?
Post Sept 1968 they pull off th emain stem. Best to apply pressure in between fascia and toggle and they'll pop off rather than yanking them off.

Hi, tried that, but how hard do you have to pull. Looks like it will break doing that.

Sounds like you may have the long toggle swithches rather than the shorter later ones (post sept 68).

Just wiggle sideways slightly as you pull, should come loose easy enough.
