Yes, you can wire your electric fuel pump to your ignition, and it is advisable that you do so, depending on the draw will depend on whether it needs to go through a relay or not!

your electric ignition should already be wired to the ignition!

ut on white wire off igintion,spent 2 hours fixing my wipers lol,it was bad earth,must come loose when had speedo out,while it was out put better flasher unit in,everything working perfect,leccy pump only comes on when turn pump,good days work,brill,but exshaust is still blowing never welded put what looks like tin foil.soknow going fail on that,

Sorry have just seen this post,just advising ,yes you can wire from ign switch but is not fused but most important there is not safety build in to doing it this way.God forbid you have accident, cant turn ign off the pump still runs with ign on.Easy fix for safety is sorce ford fuel/inersher cut off switch,run your wiring +inline fuse and bolt switch to inside "a"frame(kick panel of front foot well)an inpact would trip the switch for your safety.Ford wiring normally use the earth return of the pump for the switch(was Rac patrol for 29 years hope this helps)Terry

Can only back bluemoon - as a mechanic and MOT geezer, blue moon is right - a simple fuel cut off from a KA/escort owt like that would be a very wise move- forget posts which say it will stop if you go over rough ground - unless you are entering the RAC rally I would not heed them- mount it right, wire it right and it could be a life saver
