my ignition light is on, on the dash very dim when running which i would think was a dodgy alternator but the alternator is charging the battery fine ? and put vault meter on battery when running and its putting out 14
anyone have any ideas

Loose or dodgy alternator connector/wires. Nearly always this.

Might be ignition switch also.
This happens if the voltage is higher from the alternator compared to the ignition side of the switch.
Dodgy connections, fusebox or faulty switch or whatever.

Try cleaning the battery earth and the engine to body earth as well.
