Connectors and sleeves

Postby jpsmit » Fri Mar 04, 2016 12:30 am

Are the Vauxhall bullet connectors the same as I would have on my MG? ie are they all Lucas connectors?

Also, a number of the spade connectors have rubber covers - some are quite brittle (the cover not the connector) is there a way to replace the cover without cutting the connector and re-soldering? Does it matter?

Thanks all

Use shrink tubing over the spade connectors rather than cut the connector off. If you are worried about the insulation value of the shrink tubing then add two layers.

I would say the Vauxhall ones would be AC Delco rather than Lucas, but I don't know if that's any different in terms of dimensions.

the vauxhall looms were made by Ripaults. Do not think they hade their own connectors so they are probably "the same" as lucas. I have seen some of the connectors in other makes as well.
