1972 viva 1256 no spark

Hi All
I have just bought an HC 1256 problem is no spark from ht lead from coil ive fitted another coil i know is good from my HB still no spark there is 6 volts at + on coil and spark at the points checked all the wires can anyone help thanks.

Connect a test light across neg and poss terminals of coil, crank the engine the test light should flash, if it doesnt look at point/condenser/cap/rotor arm if it does its probs the coil/kinglead, assuming you have correct feeds and earths where they should be.

Thanks for your reply ive sorted it now it was the solenoid that was causing the problem
