Hi,
Can anyone give me some advice regarding underseal on the inside surfaces of the front wings of my HA Beagle? Whilst doing other jobs under the car i had noticed small areas of the underseal flaking off and thought one day i will scrape those bits, treat the rust, paint and underseal the affected areas. Anyway, today i had a go at it with a 1" wide scraper but to my dismay not only were the scabby bits coming off but large areas of the underseal was coming away quite easily revealing a film of rust underneath. Some parts were firmly fixed and would not budge with the scraper. The question is do i have to remove all the underseal including the solid areas, if so how, do i use a solvent to soften it, or what? The body has been resprayed so presumably a heatgun is out of the question. Is their a product such as Dinitrol or Waxoyl that would penitrate the solid sections of underseal and attack any rust that may be underneath or does it all have to come off down to bare metal and start again?
Any advice would be gratefuly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Alan Hughes.
