Chevette wheels on a Viva

Postby Cogsy » Tue Feb 23, 2016 10:48 pm

Hiya,
I would like to take the stock wheels off of my 73 Viva and replace them with something different- preferably rostyles from a Chevette. I'm not sure but I've heard the Chevette's rostyles are 4x4" which is the same pcd as the Viva's. Would just like to know if they'll have a compatible offset and pcd etc to fit my Viva.
Cheers.

I'm fairly sure chevettes run 100mm x 100mm..
Hopefully someone will confirm this!!

yeah chevette's are 100mm PCD, they will stress the studs if you fit them to a viva, which will eventually work loose and give wear to stud holes in the hub flange, not good

Would the best way to do this then is get the holes sealed and re-drilled to fit the Viva?

Probably better to source some original equipment type 4" PCD Rostyles like those in the below images. They turn up on ebay probably as frequently as the Chevette Opel style 100mm PCD Rostyles. Good luck with it! 8)

In NZ look out for MG midget Rostyles, they are 4 inch PCD too.

Is there a way to tell chevette wheels from viva wheels just by looking at them? As its a bit tricky to accurately measure the pcd. They fit on the car, but hard to tell wether they are 4"x4" or 100mm x100mm?

Chevette sports wheels look a lot different to Viva Rostyle wheels. Compare the photo below to the Viva Rostyles in the photos above. the silver spoke on Viva wheels gets slimmer as it gets to the rim while the spoke on Chevette wheels gets thicker.
