Winching a HA onto a Trailer

Hi Everyone

Does anyone have any advice or experience on the best way to load a HA onto a gravity tilt trailer? My first thought was to drive it on but the HA is actually quite narrow and if I make a mistake I could end up dropping it through the gap between the 2 ramps.

So using the winch seems like the safer option but where should I attach the cable? Should it go around one of the lower front suspension arms or would it be safe to use what I assume are the towing eyes attached to the front bumper brackets?

Thanks for any advice.

Mauro

.....you have probably already done this, but I would use the suspension sub frame under the engine,

thats what the towing eyes are for on the bumper brackets.

Thanks Everyone. I managed to get it on by attaching the winch cable to the towing eye on the bumper bracket.

Lots of stupid mistakes along the way, however. Leaving the handbrake on while I winched it up wasn't brilliant. Releasing tension on the cable before releasing the tilt so when it did tilt the car rolled back about 2m before the towing eye and cable stopped it rolling out of control wasn't brilliant either. But it proved that the towing eye is more that strong enough :D

Depends how rusty the bracket or chassis is, or if it rolls freely... some years ago I managed to tear off a rear tow eye off my Jensen GT, so why risk it?....although Mauro looks very clean and rust free...
