Twin Carbs

Postby Doss backup » Fri Oct 28, 2005 10:28 pm

I am thinking of fitting twin carbs to my HC 1256, to solve the problem of the throttle linkage would I be right in thinking that if I got a accelerator pedal from a 2.3 with the twin cables that this would do the job ok or might I be missing something.
Thanks

Do you mean twin carbs or twin choke?
ie webber or a nicky,
in that case yes you will need do do something with the pedal the travel is not enough for the standard pedal as i found out when i fitted a nicky.
I dont think the 2.3 came with twin cables this is something you would have to do yourself.
So yes look out for a 2.3 or 1800 pedal.

Late Magnums (with the 'proper' accelerator pedal as opposed to the floor-mounted one) don't have two cables, but I did notice that the pedal has two cable fittings - so it would be easy to add a second one. I haven't seen one that uses them though - most just have a linkage that uses one cable to operate both carbs.
