Carb leaks

Hello,

I have last week my stromberg 150cd carb disassembled, today i have put him back.
When i start the engine, the carb does leaking at the bottom of the carb..

I think along the jet adjusting screw, in the middle of the float chamber.
So i have put a new O-ring there, and i re-tested..

leak again..

Does anyone knows this problem?

Float level not set correctly? Gouging on bottom of carb/float chamber face? Gasket not sealed properly?

if you have changed the adjusting screw o ring beware the base of the adjusting screw can also leak as its a plastic insert you would have to seal that aswell test it before you fit just put the adjusting screw in the base a put some petrol in and see if it leaks before you fit and dont forget to lubricate the o ring when you fit back on the carb

I have put out the float, and i put him right back,
but maybe the tab on the float is bent..
How can i adjust my float-level correctly?

that plastic thing I have not really tested, I will test it tomorrow

Whilst not Viva specific, the link below - start at p30 - shows a stomberg CD150 and the procedure for setting the float height. I did this recently on a couple of CD150s, its really quite easy.

With the float chamber (six screws) removed and the carb upside down, the floats will be in their closed position. Take a steel rule and measure at the highest point of the float relative to the carb body and the dimension should be between 15.5-16.5mm. Check this a few times until your sure. Then very gently, and by a small amount, bend the tab on the float until the height gap is in tolerance. Again, check that a few times until your certain all is correct.

it was not the float level,

The plastic cap thats placed in to the adjusting screw on the bottom of the carb is leak,

Does anyone know where I can find such a thing?

One issue folks have found in the past is the new o' rings, they may well be the correct size in terms of overall diameter, but some have been found to be to thin. to thin an o' ring could lead to leaking...

Hopefully this is not the case, remember these are imperial sized carburettors and its possible your new seal is the nearest metric equivalent and slightly too thin.

i have tested that plastic cap, i put petrol in to it..
I think the previous owner it has tampered with a screwdriver
