Won’t start

Postby steff » Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:26 pm

So out in the garage today to start the Viva after being stored all winter. Plugs out engine free, plugs cleaned and refitted. Getting a spark to plugs and solenoid connections checked voltage correct. Fresh fuel in tank and getting to the carb.

But slow cranking like battery if flat but it’s brand new if I disconnected the HT lead it turns over normally. Connect HT lead again and it’s slow crank again.

Ant thoughts what to try next?

And the battery earth terminal to body, plus connecting wire through solenoid to starter, if remote solenoid!
Make sure battery terminals are tight as well of course!

Got it t started today

Rechecked all connections then used jump leads to a second battery and it fired up

Poss plug lead fault now when trying to use the timing gun. Oh well all part of the fun.
