Having no success at shrinking on a new starter ring on a 1159 flywheel....tried 240 degC in oven and flywheel in freezer and it doesn't want to know....
Does it need Oxy-acetylene heating?...any advice/experience welcomed
Thanks

I dont think 240 degress is enough. Oxy/acetylene is what most use. It must be very hot......not red glowing of course but still.

I use an outside gas bar b q with a lid, to heat up any car parts...yes you need more heat.
Also looking at buying a used dishwater to plumb in the shed/garage to clean oily car parts.....
