thank you droopsnoot will go down that route, have got the fan off how do i go about removing the matrix assume it comes out from above , bit of a learning curve for me used to 60s classics first vauxhall paul

Hi Paul,

Yes the matrix comes out from above. If you have the fan off the next thing you need to do is remove the black plastic surround the matrix sits in. Once you have this lifted out of the bulkhead it splits into 2 pieces in the middle which will allow you to remove the heater core itself and replace it with a new one. When you have replaced it I would advise trying to prime the matrix and pipes with coolant as they are prone to air locking. I have had trouble in the past with the heater only blowing cold air.
