washing fuel tanks out

Postby paulbottomley37 » Fri Oct 28, 2005 10:03 pm

Okay dokies heres a good one,

how do i wash out a fuel tank, it would seem to be full of dusty stuff, as the fuel is very cloudy and yellow (sounds like W*e).

I hope this cures the very smelly exhaust fumes and smoke and makes her run realy nice

Ok the best way to do this is.
Empty and remove your tank you will need to contact Frost Restorers.
You can get a kit of them that will make your tank like new.
The kit costs £44.00.

Or you can just get the tank sealer on its own.
Empty and remove the tank then put some pebbles in the tank with a bit off fuel and shake it about, this will clean it out, empty the tank then pour in the sealent.
Sealent on its own will cost you no more than £20.50.
Have a look online at www.frost.co.uk

WARNING NOT A GOOD IDEA TO SMOKE WHEN DOING THIS JOB OR YOU MIGHT NEED MORE THAN JUST A NEW TANK.

dont worry i will not smoke, other advice has been to just water it down (so to speak) with lots of fresh jungle juice (not sure i can do that at £1 a litre!!) and swap the filter over for a clean new one.

Other idea was to throw a match on it and burn the old fuel out LOL like i will do that
