How heavy is an 1800 slant four engine ?
Got to collect one and get it out of the shed across the garden, and down the drive to my van
Only me and an elderly gent to do it.
Can't use a trolley as the garden is full of pot holes.
Vivas seem to be highly addictive,
got an Estate
Now have a Coupe
now on the lookout for a Saloon

Heavier than the two of you can likely carry - this website lists engine weights
http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/engineweights.htmlIt doesn't list the slant four - but, a Saab slant 4 weighs 290 lbs, so we can infer the Vauxhall would be in the ballpark. Could you bring a handcart or a trolley or wagon and maybe a couple of pieces of plywood or 8X2 or something?
Alternatively could you strip the engine in situ?

Cheers for the advise as it happened the guy had two 22ft scaffolding poles
So the the engine got slid along them very easily right to the van doors
