the mot bloke said it was very weird as the previous owners replaced stuff new on one side but not the other, rather than changing both

The previous, previous owner did work down one side and then the other due to space in the garage. He sold it on before finishing so he must have only got round to replacing the mechanical items on one side before selling.

I did mention that when I sold it to him, and included all the spares to fit to the other side so that it could be finished. Glad it finally got it's ticket though, I didn't think it would take much to get through :) .

I don't suppose I have the ticket till the works are done , the washer stork might be the sticking plaster

I've got loads of indicator / washer stalk pairs if club spares can't help you out. I'd need to find time to test one and make sure it works, of course.
