HA front brake adjusters

Postby Chris Van Man » Wed Apr 15, 2020 3:33 pm

Has anybody fitted new front brake adjusters on an HA viva, my real question is how do you remove the old ones.

Thanks.

If you are meaning the cam adjusters they are a fixed item on the back plate and cannot be removed.
Similarly, the pins on the shoes.

If you buy new shoes, ensure that they have the pins on them. Some spurious ones don't!!

Hi Bob, thanks for your reply, if you check on ebay you can buy a replacement adjuster kit so you remove your old adjusters somehow and the new ones bolt in, they also fit Ford Cortina MK1 and Anglia etc, have a look see what you think, many thanks, Chris.

If the car has Girling brakes these might be what's needed.

Hi Chris, haven't seen those kits before but they look useful .
Never had the need to explore that avenue as mine has discs, but glad you got them fixed OK.
