13 years at its finally running!!!

Postby pbottomley » Thu Nov 26, 2020 10:09 pm

Well after 13 years of work, I thought it time to get the car over to Northampton Motorsport, one issue with the rear axle at high speed has stopped us going above (for safety reasons) 100mph / 6000 rpm in 4th, so it's now fully mapped to that point. Once I have found the source of the vibrations (many suggestions already received to last a lifetime so don't feel the need to add please) I will be back and finish off the mapping up to 7200rpm... (my imposed red line) .

On the engine dyno some years ago (on some old delorttos) it was seeing 203bhp @ 6900, today due to the rev limit we saw 188bhp (at flywheel) at 6000, so suspect its all going to be about the same but now on throttle bodies and the more spaghetti shaped exhaust manifold than the straight manifold use don the engine dyno.

We had a small fire at one point the manifold was glowing red hot under load at 5500 and it melted / set alight to a suspension bush, so some mods / heat shield is required there, was exciting to see my car on fire!!!
