When I was using my 1159 HB everyday it used to do about 32mpg, my HB GT used to average 24mpg, or about 30mpg on a run. As long as I behaved, did get down to 8mpg once!!!

My HPF was giving about 32mpg on the motorway from home to Billing last year, and about the same when I went to Shelsley Walsh for the DSG 25th anniversary thing. And I wasn't hanging about either, just going steadily.

I used to have a 10 year old HB and it did about 32mpg. My Griffon 2300 does about 12mpg, but that's just the way I drive it. I don't think it helps having a 1256 axle and I don't like using top gear as that stops the back wheels spinning. Regards, Mark

*jumps on bandwagon late*
On the run from leeds to London (about 200 miles) the viva used up about 30 litres of fuel. So that's about 20-25mpg.

30 litres in 200 miles, that's not bad. Working on 4.54 litres per gallon, that's equivalent to 30mpg.
