I too have read the various posts related to the action of our chairman, Ian, and would like to assure him of my support in attempting to put past personality clashes behind us in the interests of furthering the enjoyment of the VIVA/Vauxhall family.
As a member of the VDR I was disappointed at the reaction of Deon and Flod to Ians approach. In hindsight it may have been better if the initial approach had been a personal one but, Ian, as far as I can see, did nothing but indicate that we are now under new management and here is an opportunity to put personal differences aside and work in a complimentary way for the good of Vivas. Ian did not deserve the reaction he got.
I am a member of the VVOC, VDC, 3CV&CCC, I have been a member of DSG because all these clubs have had something unique to offer me. At the end of the day members join clubs for enjoyment and a sociable participation in classic car activities. When politics, cliques, and personality clashes overshadow the more positive aspects of club and interclub activities membership tend to vote with there feet. So-Ian - if you are intent on trying to overcome these negative elements them you have my whole hearted support.
