E-mail from Guy Turner.

Postby AUTOMAN » Sat Jan 06, 2007 2:50 pm

Today I received an e-mail from Guy Turner. Whithin this email he talks about the letter that was sent to the classic car press. He states that he did not sign it, but he does not actually say that he sent it.

He urges me to make a public appology to Deon and the Viva Drivers club, for accusations that I am supposed to have made allong with members of this forum against them.

I have made no such accusations, but I am openly prepared to state:

SHOULD ANY SUGGESTION OR INFURANCE FROM ANY MEMBER OF THIS FORUM OR AND INCLUDING MYSELF, I AM TRULY SORRY. NO MEMBER OF THE VAUXHALL VIVA OWNERS CLUB, IT'S ASSOCIATED FORUM OR WEBSIDE OR ANY CORRESPONDANCE SENT ON IT'S BEHALF, IN ANY WAY MEANT TO CAUSE OFFENCE TO ANY MEMBER OF THE VIVA DRIVERS CLUB. IF ANY MEMBER OF THE VIVA DRIVERS CLUB BELIEVES THAT WE HAVE ALLEGED ANYWHERE THAT DEON WILSON WROTE THE LETTER SENT ANNOMOUSLY TO THE PRESS, THEN THOUGH THEY UNDER AN ILLUSION OR HAVING BEEN MISS-LEAD, I AM TRULY SORRY.

I do hope that that will do, it is like I have shouted and I know Paul hates that.

All 3 clubs were just getting on with what they do best, talking, eating sleeping viva`s.
So can we all just get on with it, mud slinging, finger pointing will not remove the letter`s black and white form but we can forget about it and move on!

The post that started this thread was at the request of Mr Turner, there is no finger pointing, if you think that you are fed up with all this, imagine how I feel having to deal with it each and every time it comes up. I want to ignore it, but if I do I am accussed of couvering things up. If I do what is asked of me and conduct the club's business with openness and honnesty, I am damned.

I will continue to keep the forum updated regarding issues that affect the club and if you don't want to know then don't read. I believe that the club has the right to know what we are doing on behalf of it. It also has the right to know of correspondance that may affect the membership of the club. I won't be silenced by the minority to stop information getting to the magority.

all for everyone knowing, but the knowing of this letter is the bain of this club. Untill the author of said letter stands up and said i penned it, we best give up on a lost cause and put the witch hunt to one side, it p****s people off, that`s is all it does, stirs up rumours and pointing.
Put it to bed

This is the attachment sent to me by Guy Turner. I hope that this now puts this matter completely to bed and that it never raises its ugly head again. I as chairman of the club am hoping that I will never have to comment upon this issue again and that I allong with the other committee members can get on with enjoying running the club on behalf of you our members. Good luck to the Driver's Club and any other Viva related club, I do hope that in the future we will be able to work together in some way for the good of the mark.

Ian Francis.

:| It looks like I have joined this debate just as the ashes are cooling and I do not want to add fuel to the fire but need to have my say.

We are all unique individuals and as such will all have differing opinions about most subjects. We also have different moral and ethical standards. Therefore, without a doubt, we are all going to upset someone at some time and maybe not even know it (unless we do it on purpose  ).

I would like to suggest that all involved "turn the other cheek" and "let go" of any pent up feelings (beating up an old pillow helps). If you hang on to hate, you are only destroying yourself. It's no good sticking your head in the sand either, because the problem won't go away.

I also know that some people have a problem saying "Sorry" so don't expect anything from anyone. Just acknowledge that it is the other person that has a problem that they have to deal with, in their way, in their own time.

If you want to know why you are on this planet, have a look at "The Life You Were Born To Live" by Dan Millman ISBN 0915811-60-X. I found it truly enlightening. I've bought loads of copies for family and friends.

In conclusion, I humbly apologise to anyone if I have caused any offence with the contents of this posting.

PS I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2007 (late again!) :D

I am going to agree with Ians points about "wishing we can all get along" there has been much mud slinging from lots of parties, some of it productive most of its damaging.

On the whole I think everyone involved including myself, has a lot of passion about these cars, and is trying to do the best possible thing for the user, but like most things in life there are lots or right ways and not just one right way.

Time will tell, its only been 6 weeks since the AGM. :)
