Had this one VHS for years. Lots of mistakes in it if you watch closely!! Still fun though. Also got the Crystal Palace race thats also on youtube.

This next link, only distantly Viva related. Can anyone enhance the clip so the Viva GT's number plate is readable?

Its strange how these things turn up. 20 years ago when I was a member of what was then the HB viva O.C. I had a friend who was a film editor at the BBC. I managed to track the original airing date for that episode of Blue Peter from the sister article that they ran in Motor Magazine at the time. After much searching in dark cupboards, he found the tape for the show. It was on some old Acetate type of film and it actually disintegrated as he put it through the machine to copy it to some Beta format tape that the Beeb used and then onto VHS. So the original ended up in the bin. I have the Beta tape and did a couple of copies for people, including Adrian M, and one for myself so the original is now kept safely stored away. Hadn't watched it for years until I saw this thread, and thought I'd recount its tale for posterity. The GT in the film was the car that prompted me to build my S&K replica many moons ago.
Oh well end of tale.

Darren Ramsay (Originally HB member 31).

I think the programme was called Driving Ambition. I tried to find a copy a couple of years ago, but this is the only information I could find.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0287210/

If anyone has a copy or knows where to get one, I would also like to know.

1984, thought it was earlier than that, was called Driving ambition, little more at http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/series/7095 but not a lot.

It was Driving Ambition, that's true. I've got the book. The Firenza was Tony Davies' Transpeed car, the memorable quote was:

Bird: What's that?
Ken Lark: A Vauxhall Firenza - fastest thing on the track.

I'd like to find a copy on video as well but I think at the time VCRs were very expensive.

Jesus a post from 13 years ago pulled back up... Have you nothing better to do than deep dive the past LOL

Anyways I couldn't find the video, but here is a great one to bring back all those yesteryear health and safety questions.
