Anyone got a sump guard fitted / ever fitted a sump guard to their viva???
I want to fit one to my HC, but as with every other rally mod, parts etc aren't readily available off the shelf compared to other 70s cars!!!

Any help would be great,

I think the Coburn book "Tuning Vivas and Firenzas" shows a pretty good picture of the sump guard. As I recall it bolts on to the inner anti-roll bar mounts at the back, not sure where it bolts on the front.

hmm where can i get this book? heard about it before - is it related to the 'sportspart manual?' i have also heard of?
also does it have much on tuning 1256 engines?

I managed to get a copy through Amazon! wasnt cheap mind you...

It doesnt go into a great detail on the tuning of the 1256, but it is an interesting read

Ill smuggle it into work and scan you a few pages

There's often a copy on eBay. Here's one:

That looks like a photocopy to me, although the seller says its a reprint. Or there's an autographed copy on for £80.

Thanks for the offer of copying some pages matt, but i'll try and just get a copy of the book now - if i can't get one i might come back begging!
