Well i'm new to this forum and came across this thread..... What can i say, the car is stunning in every way. Are we gonna get any more updates as i have to see how this one's gone on. Put's mine in the shade.... but i don't care.........honestly............. o.k. then, maybe just a bit :respekt:

Wow- this is soooooo cool. I have been following this and its great to see it at this point. I hope to see this in the flesh one day. What sort of power are you expecting from the engine?

So, taking into account the number of man hours, and materials, finishing, hardware like the engine, box etc... Rough ball park figure on wht it's actually cost?

Just out of curiosity.

I'd have to add it all up to be exact but a ball park figure for the money spent on this project so far would be circa 25k and given the hundreds of hours spent on it the labour would probably equal the parts! Looking at what I have for the money spent I have no regrets though :D

I will update the pics a bit later today..

LS2 engine wiring harness chopped down and being re terminated for the Omex 710 ecu that I have..

I want a decent stereo install in the car and the first plan was to find somewhere for the headunit to sit in, so after a bit of mooching I found that a Lexus centre console might work if chopped to suit..

I'm going to make a satin alloy panel to house the gear lever gaiter and electric window switches

Modded Lexus handbrake lever..

Doors proved to be a pain as they took way too long. As I already mentioned, I want a nice sounding stereo system so door builds were needed..

Central locking motors attached to the window guide..

Sierra rear door looms proved to be perfect for the front doors..

Front inertia seat belt anchorages welded into place..

I used Rover 200 3 door seat belt bars to allow the seat belt to slide out of the rear passengers way when getting in and out..

All the floor has been covered with sound deadening..

The trimmer has sent a couple of progress pics

Its hard to tell the actual colour from the pics as they don't do the colour justice but I'd say that the console pic is the closest.

Btw those pics are taken inside the trimmers carpeted workshop before anyone thinks I don't own a vacuum cleaner!!

Whilst the car was at the trimmers I had a play ith the speedo..

The problem I had with the speedo (other than the fact it only reads upto 120!) is that the Tremec gearbox doesn't support a mechanical speedo drive, I did a bit of research and found out that a Stack speedo will work with the Tremec transducer and as I'm a Stack dealer it was a no brainer and one was ordered..

I stripped it down (warranty out the window!!!)

After measuring the Stack speedo face I found it was too small for what I wanted and was a little 'busy' with the kph graduations, so I drew up a sketch and got a local sticker company to make me a new face..

I made up a new perspex plate and machined a hole for the digital mileage readout..

My new face is way better than Stacks in my opinion..

Next problem was the needle, the Stack one is plactic and looks nothing like the Vauxhall one. So I ground the pointer off which just left a plastic bar, I drilled it 1.5 mm and broke the end off a Firenza speedo and pushed it into the Stack tube..

Which then gave me a suitable mount for the OE pointer

All of my needles (pointers) were in various stages of loosing their colour so I decided they all had to have a facelift, I chose a different shade and set to work..

I know the number font isn't spot on but I'm happy with the result, when power is applied the needle jumps to the 0 position.

And btw, yes I know the 160mph max reading wont be high enough!

Now I need to find a suitable time clock, I reckon the workings of a Triumph one will do the job....

I am totally speachless. That is amazing. Its going to be one hell of a machine when its done. If I ever see it, I apologise now for drooling over it!

I've not seen this before. Absolutely amazing, and such inspiration to keep going with mine. We seem to have similar plans in ways but yours are just a million steps better, more thought out and the attention to detail is out of this world! I can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Out of interest, did you buy the battery box for the boot or was it fabricated?
