i have a small stearing wheel in my hb so can see the kilometers beter than the miles so i was wondering if a lhd speedo woud be reversed miles on the botom kilometers on top

not necessarily, we've got some ambulances at work that originally came from KM/H countries, and they've got UK spec speedos with MPH in big around the outside. Only one of them has KM/H in large, but has omitted the MPH bit completely.

If it's a major issue, why not strip down the speedo and make your own insert for it? I don't know what kind of dash you have, but certainly on the 7-dial instruments it's very simple to strip the speedo down so you have just the plate with the printing on it.

Anyone with a PC and a decent printer could knock up something that's exactly right for you, making sure the calibration is still correct of course.
