How's about these discs......

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAKE-DISCS-STEEL ... 53de7ac51e

Someone said that the disc bolt holes are 4 inch pcd, I know that the MG Midget uses wheel stud pattern of 4x4inch pcd so I would need to double check that the brake disc uses the same hole pattern as I could have been given mixed messages over this, unless anyone here knows what they are?

Plus they are cheap and easy to get hold of.

On my V8 viva I have used Escort Cosworth 4 stud rear vented discs and matching calipers, they are compact and have built in cable handbrake, just need to weld/bolt brackets to the housing and redrill the discs to your stud pattern. (however I am using a heavy duty Mustang rear axle, but the principle is the same) Picture is the conversion on my turbo'd Opel Manta Exclusive....don't forget to get a decent pedal you will need to get a larger bore master cylinder, ideally off a car that has discs all round as standard.

Po & Viva Les Vegas - How have you got on with your disc conversion.

There are a few upgrades I want to do in the next few years and I'm trying to build up a list of all the parts and work I need to do so I can slowly build it all up in the garage and make the swap over as smooth as possible.

Gtpete - any chance you could put some more pics of the conversion you did and how you mounted everything? Looks like a good setup!

At the moment, no, I've not done anything. I'm still looking for a suitable rear axle to take the torque of the V8 that I'm fitting, eventually. All just ideas at the moment.

Bookmarked - I've got an Austin healy axle to go in the estate, but it came sans hubs and with a mangled drive sproket so I need to rip it apart anyway. Does anyone know where I can get hold of any 2.3 dif parts?

I like to think you've had your life on hold for those 8 months while you try to think of a suitable donor :D
