Has anyone modified a late HC gearbox crossmember with the round assembly type mount, to accept the available square mount as found on earlier HC's?

I know I can fit the earlier gearbox crossmember, but wondered if there was an easier way to get past the problem by adapting the later crossmember.

Noone at all tried this on their late HC's?

Drill or grind out the tw rivets holding in the large circular rubber mount - then weld in a circular plate .
