Alternastive Steering wheel

Postby 1972nail » Thu Sep 11, 2014 8:40 pm

Been asked by a friend what steering wheels fit a Viva HC. In the past I've fitted a steering wheel from a 78 Cavalier Coupe to a late type HC steering column so a Chevette one should fit as well. Just wondering what other wheels will fit. Anyone got any suggestions? What about Manta, Corsa, Astra? Also, if it fits, are there any problems like indicator cancelling, rubbing on the column shroud etc?

I'm interested in this topic too, at Beaulieu autojumble last week I purchased a beautiful period moto-lita with a boss for a Vauxhall "F-type" (I assume they mean a Victor), and am very keen to see if it's actually gonna fit!

The boss has two roll-pins poking out of the back for the indicator self-cancelling.

Obviously I could just pull the original wheel off and have a look, but I don't have time at the moment and if I did have time I'd probably be better off tackling some more rust or the knackered suspension bushes or something more important!
