dont know really some cowboy let loose with a welder put a large flat plate over most of the inner wing then used some bed iron to form some kind of battery tray.i think a lot of the inner wing is still ok under it hopefully be able to uncover most of it and repair whats left and make the repair invisible

just having an initial measure up looks to need a piece out of the oil pan and a bit out of the crossmember, need to shorten the remote part of the gearchange so it comes up through the hole.just going now to remove the crossmember and drill off the old engine montings.also will need to manufacture some engine mounts for the engine itself.most important to me is no cutting of the car needed :D

Have you considered a Lotus manifold? There are stainless ones made for a lot of the engines. You'll find https://www.thelotusforums.com/ a mine of information and Bibs the guy in charge is an excellent friendly and knowledgeable guy to know.

http://www.lotusbits.com/ is a good source of parts for older Lotus

http://www.deroure.com is the site to go to for parts still serviced by the factory

The latter is part of Bell & Colvill, the world's oldest Lotus dealership. I'm the IT manager there :)
