You might want to conntact a member on here called Ade, he is fitting a V8 to his Firenza so will have removed his Rover T16 turbo motor. No idea how heavy a Firenza is, does a Haynes manual say anything?

1007kg what size engine car is that because the 16 /18/ 20/ 23 engine is alot heavier than the smaller engine cars? i will have to pm ade and see what gearbox he uses why did he take it out? did it not work in the car very well or is it a v8 thing? i think the car is heavy enough a v8 is very heavy i've got a v8 rover engine and box but i thought that the weight will be too much.mike

Pretty sure its just a V8 thing. The Rover motor worked very well.

Being all alloy block and heads, the Rover V8 is no heavier than the magnum
slant-4.
Rover V8 is100 lb lighter than my Ford V6!

a 2.3 firenza is 1040kg. im surprises the Rover V8 is no heavier than the
slant-4.it feels heavier but a rover 2 litre turbo engine is a lighter than the 2.3

hello there see your all on about my conversion in the firenza well i can only say i was very very happy with how it went it was very quick and reliable the only probs i had were because it was pushed to the limit all the while on the strip,im only going the v8 route because i like the sound it will make, and i have plans for a supercharger and nos.I used a 2.8 capri box with an adapter plate rover turbo flywheel and pressure plate with an orion diese clutch plate i will shortly be selling the back axle which is a 2.8 capri converted to vauxhall mountings so is a straight fit on to another magnum with no mods you will need to do this, as i killed 3 magnum axles last year as the rover engine puts out about 250bhp with the turbo wound up if you need to know anything else please ask i dont mind helping at all
