Help! Steering wheel....

Postby MAGNUM 2300 » Sat Sep 30, 2006 8:53 pm

I'd like to change the steering wheel in my Magnum to something like this:

..or prehaps to a modern retro-like MOMO, OMP or Sparco. Do anyone know if there are "hubs" for these modern donuts that fit a '74 Magnum?? Can I prehaps use a Hub that fits Ascona/Manta A-B or from some Kadett/Chevettes??? Or even better...prehaps someone have one like the above complete with a Magnum hub??

if you can lay your hands on an ascona or kadett wheel easily ,try one of those because i used to have one fitted to a late model magnum and im sure it was from an ascona or a kadett, it fitted but check before you go out and buy a hub!

Yeah, I thought an old Opel wheel/hub would fit. I'll try to borrow an Opel hub to check..

Help! Steering wheel....

I'm pretty certain the Opel hub/boss splines are different (bigger shaft), certainly on the Manta anyway.
However, the Viva/Magnum fitting was used right across the UK Vauxhall range for over a decade so I'm sure you'll have no trouble
getting a boss to fit. I'd be surprise if Mountney don't still list one, at least to fit their "classic" steering wheel anyway,
which is still the best looking wheel you can buy in my opinion.
