what to do with this loverly Viva hc... your advise needed..

Postby haggisthebadger » Wed Dec 20, 2006 1:43 am

hey there....

i've driven this 1971 hc for about 3 years till i got a real fast mr2 turbo, the fact is i love both cars and get more looks in the viva but i need the space and must loose 1 of them..... the mots just ran out and i'm pushed for time as well, is it worth breaking for parts if can find somewhere to store it... i doubt its worth anything, i was gonna put it on ebay but dont think it'd make a great deal.... its got a fully documented 56,000ish mile history, in a garage for a load of years with mots every year showing only 3 or so miles on the clock ( the old guy just ran it to the mot centre and back!!!) but now its a bit rotten on the sills and needs a little work doing to it for the next MOT. Apart from that its solid, the insides all cracked but the seats are good and the chromes real nice,

its a bit to nice to break and i dont think i'd get a lot for it if i sold as is...

what to do????? what do you think/?
cheers dudes

Deffo hang on a bit, sell it to me and get it out of your hair :D

But seriously whatever you do it sounds too good to break - a pair of sill, that's nothing tbh.

To summarise keep it on the road! Especially one as early as this.

why not turbo the viva? put a 2.3 low compression in to it and then fit a turbo and bits to it or buy a turbo car and take the engine out and fit that in the viva

You can fit a Rover V8 into a HC without cutting the bulkhead but you have to modify the steering to miss the exhaust...

i love the turbo idea although i'd like to supercharge something before i die... chain saw, strimmer, hedgecutter... v8 viva :-)

maybe twin superchargers????

so the next questions are back axle and gearbox????
