even more off topic.. Keep the turbo but forget the diesel bit.

The crossmember is the big limiting factor in engine swaps for the viva. Most engines will drop under the bonnet and mount up without too much work but the sumps are almost always in need of customising to make them more like the OHC one with the wings at the rear and veryshallow over the crossmember. Of the course this also means mods to the oil pickup usually.

Also remember that there is no vacuum on a diesel so the servo become redundant and you will need some other way to get brake assistance.
