shorter front shocks

Postby fuel » Tue Apr 22, 2008 7:58 am

hey guys.. first tech post for me.

I've fitted Opel Corsa rear springs to the rear of my Viva and it's all good, just the front springs I've fitted aren't captive, does anyone know of a shock which has a shorter extended length of about an inch than the original front shocks?

Cheers

No is the short answer. But you can retain the original shocks by spacing the lower shock mount away from the underside of the lower wishbone. Has been done in the past and on the "works" cars.

hrmm might give that a go, cheers

I went to a suspension shop and you can get shocks from a Morgan which are shorter, but the ends need to be slightly modified to suit. But it's very costly, at nearly $200NZ ($150US) per shock and then another $70 to get them modified to fit.
