This is an area for discussion about modifications to Vivas.

Thank you. Neat and functional was what i was going for. My dad couldnt see it either but I just had an idea from the start of what I wanted. It's the pods that make them. Could've got just a two-holed panel for 1/5th of the price but just wouldn't have looked right.

Just a thought as well, what should my redline be set at? I went for 6k due to the handbook saying max power at 5.6k. Not that I ever take it to that!...

Looks neat, I think I'm going to pinch your idea as I've a couple of extra 52mm gauges to stick somewhere.

If someone here has a 1300 GLS, they could tell you :)

From a vague memory of the 7-dial dash in a 1300 GLS, I think the red section starts a touch over 6k, maybe 6200? Don't take my word for it though ;)

Kat is correct, just been in the garage and had a look. The rev counter on a 1300GLS has its red line at 6200rpm, but if your engine is high mileage or worn I wouldnt take it that high!!

Pinch ahead Kat, I'd be honoured :)

Thanks to the both of you for finding the red line mark for me too. I'll adjust it accordingly just to be correct. My engine's not high mileage although does still have a funny noise occasionally, and I'm far too scared to take it that high anyway. Also no matter how I drive it, it's just slow, so what's the point?

While on the subject, is there any difference in engine spec between the standard 1256 De Luxe etc, and the GLS? It was a GLS that first brought Viva's to my attention. Lovely yellow one on ebay, but just as I enquired it was sold :(
