Yea suppose it made financial sense to keep as much as possible compatible between models also less parts bins needed,
I cant think of any other car or light commercial having an almost unchanged 20yr production run than the ha van!
even the beetle and mini changed greatly in 20yrs!

just a bit of an update.
Some tin work progressing in the loading area of max including making new drain pipes as per original! as the old ones were damaged on removal, and wax oiling of the lower floor before fixing the wood and metal upper floor...

Cab / dash area now painted....

suspension bits shot blasted then painted and fitted using all new old stock parts......

axles / wings and front panel fitted (it took 2 full days to get the panel gaps right and welded up) also bulkhead painted.... undergoing some final bodywork tweeks before starting to bare metal the bodywork and a date with the paintshop!!!

Now mostly back to bare metal and nearly ready for some primer..... I usually paint my vehicles myself but due to time constraints and other projects ive decided to spoil him and have entrusted a local painter to do this for me!

Some job that Steve - tell you what when you have finished it I will look after Max whilst you take Titan back to bare metal and do the same to him - thats after we have done a duet at some show
