Really enjoyed following this project thread and great to see it in the flesh this year at Billing. Well done Joe and Chris in bringing this car back to good health.

Great project.

I am also trying to fit a new headliner. Where did you source the clips for the ends of the rods before they fit into the slots in the inside of the roof?

A friend ran out of the 'clips' and tack welded washers onto the rods.

Luckily I found the correct number of nylon inserts in the spares bucket that came with the car. Welding on washers would do the same job...

The headliner retainers are something like this: http://bresco.com/acatalog/-Snapsac--se ... tml#SID=23 - basically a "top-hat" nylon bush with no hole in the top/bottom so the rod sits in it.

But I must stress I don't know if those are the correct (or usable, as they're metric) dimensions. When I was putting mine back in recently I had one missing one, then found it, and measured it before I put it back in the roof. So I can post the dimensions later.

Thanks, I measured the rod tonight 5mm thick with the panel hole just under 10mm so those ones from Bresco look ideal.
