Hello everybody,

here are some pictures of my hb in progress. Sorry the pictures aren't the best quality.
It's a 1968 sl with me being the 3rd owner, it was last on the road some time in 78.

Wow.

A lot of work there but definitely worth doing. I find the best way is to throw yourself into it and set time targets otherwise it can drag on for too long and you lose interest.

Keep us up to date with progress.

Chrismc: sure correct about the amount of work I have thrown myself into it as much as possible and it's getting along alright. My dad had a look around it yesturday and hes happy with the progress of it so far, but a little angry that he couldn't pull his lawn mower out of the shed as it's packed with viva parts

Colin: thanks for your input, i would like to think i could restore the viva to a high standard, but i'm definitely no picasso with my work as i haven't got the 100% mastering skill, but i will give it all i got to make it look nice as possible

Rizzo: Yes that's the one! It was great to finally receive the logbook after it had taken around 6 months battle with dvla i had to go through an vehicle archives centre, for them to drag up some info containing the reg and vin number, which after paying them a few quid i finally passed the information onto dvla and with another week on that it had arrived in the post, with me as 3rd owner

sorted the drivers side floor for now. I'll be stripping the complete interior out soon, then i'll angle grind both floors to remove as much muck as possible, to see if i need to do anymore welding as the floors in certain areas feel soft to the touch of a hammer.

The boot spare wheel well was badly gone so i'm currently welding in the big section and will have some pictures to show as soon as possible of the end result.

Engine is all painted and tomorrow i will be putting new gaskets on to get her fired up. A lot more work has taken place since the last photos, that i will try get some of soon.
Also a small update, hopefully i should be buying another Hb shortly to start work on

I did originally have pics of everything before and after but the memory card they was on, was lost so I'm only going to have the half and finished pictures :/ but yeah she's coming on great and I've sorted through my parts getting things ready for her as I need to get it ready before summer, so my dad can use her
