East kent trim rubbers

Postby steve_1984 » Sat Mar 04, 2017 12:43 pm

I recently bought a boot seal and a rear window seal for my HB. Has anyone else used them before? I was under the impression that the rear screen seal would be a reproduction viva one, whereas its actually for another car and needs cutting and joining in order to fit.

I'm gonna tackle this soon so just wondered if anyone else had any tips or suggestions?

Have fitted the rear seal, not the best but a year later the joint has come apart. Have yet to fit the boot seal as waiting for the summer to respray as the paint came off with the old seal.

Are the screen seals still available from Australia?

Hmm ok then, i'm gonna try some grab adhesive as that's pretty strong stuff. Not having a go at the suppliers, i'd just assumed it was gonna be a reproduction part.

Anything will be better than what's on there atm

So after changing it and fitting new chrome trim, it still leaks in the same place, the bottom corners...

I was told it shouldn't need sealant but now thinking that's the only answer.
