Grease removal

Hi all, just started stripping my new project and just found out why the front wings and inner wings are so good. After removing the home made rubber wing liners and everywhere is covered in thick grease. Great for keeping rust at bay but a nightmare to paint. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best / easiest way to clean it off. I'm guessing lots of rags and then turps. Thanks Marcus

Thinking of just scraping it off onto a dust sheet and then I can bin it

if it doesn't matter if you make a mess in the area in which you are cleaning the grease off the car, id use a steam cleaner or a hot pressure washer, but it is messy.

That's the trouble, I'm doing it in the back garden so steam cleaner is a no no. I've scraped out the worst of it with my hand, think I might look into a local company to steam clean it when the wheels are back on and I can roll it
