fuel lines

Is there any reason why you cannot use cupro nickel pipe for the rigid fuel line under the car? Also it it 3/16 or 1/4 for OHV? thanks,

I'm not aware of a reason for not using Kunifer, I think my Firenza might have been done in that but it's so long ago now I can't really remember.

Looking in the parts book, it says this:

1256cc engine - CX101001-CX219999, CY101001-CY199999 PIPE, tank to pump (NLS, cut from 2688574 roll)
1256cc engine - DX100001-FX199999, DY100001--EY120847 PIPE, tank to pump (NLS, cut from 2688574 roll)
1759cc / 2279cc engine - CX101001-CX219999, CY101001-CY199999 PIPE, tank to hose (NLS, cut from 2688574 roll)
1759cc / 2279cc engine - DX100001-FX199999, DY100001-EY120847 PIPE, tank to hose (NLS, cut from 91008607 roll)

And the rolls:

2688574 TUBING, Bundy, 3/16" OD x 25ft length
2688575 TUBING, Bundy, 1/4" OD x 25ft length (NLS, use 91008607)

So it looks like all OHV and early OHC used 3/16", and later OHC used 1/4" pipe.

Thanks Mike, that's confirmed my suspicions as I was sure my OHC was 1/4" and seem to remember this being smaller.

I used ordinary 6mm microbore copper for mine. It does need to be well supported though.

I bought a roll of copper for my project at the NEC show the other day. Some silly prices - one stall asking £31 for a 25' roll, I eventually paid £14.

There's always someone who charges over the odds but materials have gone up this year, I've just ordered 25ft of 3/16" cupro nickel for £16 at a local motor factor which I thought was reasonable

Yes, it has all gone up. Last year I bought a roll of 3/16" brake pipe and it was £7. I bought a few things last weekend for the project that I won't need for ages, just on that basis.

All good to read and I`ve been down this route myself over the last year or so which included a fully reconditoned AC pump that I rebuilt from two in order to have a manual priming lever as well.(the `other`pump having the lever mechanism).
What a boon that is when a car is used infrequently. I feel it worth pointing out that renewing the pump valves is essential but it is a bit of pain to do!
Also, I found that that the differences between 6mm and imperial 1/4" OD pipe a bit of a trial when getting olives and the like to fit correctly-they are NOT the same!!
