Its WXE 936M. One of the Sports Hatches you found is WXE 939M

By eck, that's a hideous interior. IMO, of course.

WXE939M is not just any Sportshatch, it's the prototype car that was shown at the 1974 Motor Show painted silver, was then re-painted in EDW and sold as a standard hatch, has been used to two a drag-racer, and is now in Ireland and restored.

This was called 'Magnum Mania ' and the owner lived on the South Coast around Ringwood. Sure i've got some pics of the car when in Cornwall for shows in the early to mid 80's. Sure it ran a V8 and Jag IRS.
