Swiss Viva - End of Project

Postby MauroV » Sat Jan 01, 2022 7:11 pm

Ok, so the Swiss Viva is done. The car is back home. It runs great. Everthing pretty much works. There are a few snags remaining such as the rough paint, it needs a headliner and a carpet, the brake lights and indicators need re-wiring. But as a project it's done and this is probably the last update for this car on this thread :D

I finally got the Brabham Viva out of the worshop and into the body shop. Mechanically the car is now perfect, especially the engine which is running great and sounds like a race car, although admittedly there are still a few holes in the exhaust :D

Hopefully, over the next few weeks, the paint will be restored, the underneath resealed and the Brabham side stripe put back.

I'll post pics as soon as I get some.

The engine is fantastic, thanks Adrian you did an excellent job. You rescued a project that was in real danger of going tragically wrong :thanx:

The Brabham is soon to be released from the body shop. They have protected the underneath which was already in great condition. They have also buffed up the original paint which is looking great. They did some archaeology looking to see if there had been a stripe on the car but unfortunately they didn't find one so I asked them to apply a matt black stripe which captures the spirit of the original Brabhams. Even if the original owner of this one didn't choose the optional stripe.

I hope to bring it home, all finished, next week :D

Looking great. I think the black stripe is appropriate.
