Sorry but as has been said it's down to you to count the money. You don't know he knew exactly how much he had in his wallet or if he knew what he gave you. How doesn't he know you aren't making it up. No chance that I would ever go back and pay more money just on someone saying they haven't got enough. It should Always be counted In front of the person to show both parties that no one is trying to fiddle anything.

Just by it going to a young person doesn't mean it will be ruined. If it's lowered big deal. It may make the car look nicer. When I bought my HB at the grand old age of 23 and then fully repainted it, lowered it and put some new wheels on was that wrong?

It's not all about age. A lot of younger people will take a lot better care with cars than a lot of older people. Shouldn't matter what your age is.

I'm fully aware I made a mistake, but he became very illusive after the sale. The only person I got to speak too was his friend, who was unhelpful. Kept saying yeah I'll talk to him, I'll talk to him. The guy never contacted me. If it was me I'd have the common courtesy to talk about it whether it was resolved or not. That's purely because I believe in not being a total mug, and have respect for other people. Nobody just hands someone else a big wad of cash and has no idea what's there...he probably just hoped I *Bleep* up (and did).
Anyway, that's it, I don't really care now...I was just angry that someone couldn't even be bothered to call me really. I don't feel the need to go on the jeremy kyle show or anything...

Well at least you know it hasn't been messed with, think id be tempted to buy it back with obviously £100 less than the agreed price and slip a few dodgy notes in for good measure. :goodideasign:

Hi, just read through this whole thread and have to conclude that it is the responsibility of the seller to make sure that the vehicle is paid for in full before the v5c is filled in and the vehicle even turns a wheel. Even if you have to count it half a dozen times be sure, because you have no come back once you have given the nod and released the vehicle. You have the right to be *Bleep* off and maybe a little foolish but no more. When I turn up with cash to buy a car (most recently a Subaru) I count the money in front of the seller, then ask them to recount it. That way it's double checked and everyone is happy. And as a footnote,it does appear that the car is still all together.
Regards, Dave.

"Surely crying out for a 2.3 slant or a red top"

What's wrong with keeping things original?
Am I just older than 22 at heart?!

Honestly, I wish I had bought this from you back when I could afford it.

It should be kept original - this model is getting few and far between :goodideasign: - go play with something more common if you want to express your mechanical prowess :imsmiling:
