I was hoping to draw on the experience of you Viva owners to find out what this Viva barn find is realistically worth?

Certainly not in A1 condition.....Its done 46K miles from new. Have 2 x original keys, manuals, owners booklets etc.

In that case, I'd be asking up to about £500 and be prepared to accept as little as £150.

As far as parts are concerned the only worthwhile sought after bits are the dash crash pad - £50 to £100, late type 1256 engine and gearbox - £100 - £150 complete. If the bumpers and tail lights have very good chrome then £20 each. You may sell various other bits over a longer term.

Those values are if you were selling the bits already stripped off, not on the car.

Looking at your photos it looks like some rust horrors will be living in the main shell. Rust will have taken hold. Garages like that really suffer from condensation hence all the mould and lichens all over it. The inside of the sills on these cars suffer badly when stored like that. This is where the cars strength comes from as it ties the floor to the A,B and C pillars.
Bear in mind a buyer will have to replace all rubbers and hoses. Strip and inspect engine and replace components as needed plus machining. Pull apart the gearbox and rear axle inspect and replace as required. Replace all brake lines and brake components. Refurbish radiator and heater matrix. New tyres. etc.

Let alone the hours needed to cut out and put fresh metal back in.

Last but not least if this was a rare model such as an early 70's SL or a 2300 Magnum or indeed a Firenza then you would have a different answer from us. It would fetch more than that and have a lot more interest in doing the work needed. In modern car terms Think Ford Focus 1600 (your Viva) to Ford Focus RS (an SL)

Maybe the last owner was someone special in your life if so why not take on restoring the car yourself.

Sorry to say but I agree with the others, unfortunately in the Viva world the cost of restoring a car isn't financially worth while as a fully restored car will only sell for £4k. Whilst it is low mileage it still needs a lot of work and money throwing at it. Whether you strip it or sell as a whole, good luck.
