Was offered free in 1996 in the club magazine as a half finished resto. Had Minilights and a GT bonnet fitted.

Current DVLA says its still on SORN

The vehicle details for MXE 429E are:
Date of First Registration 01 07 1967
Year of Manufacture 1967
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1159cc
CO₂ Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status SORN in place
Vehicle Colour BLUE

So its still alive in someones lockup somewhere. Try the Viva Outlaws or Viva Drivers club see if the owners a member of those clubs, even the DSG or VODC.
