Vauxhall Heritage Open Day

Postby Fred Dukes » Mon Apr 04, 2016 3:55 pm

The VBOA are having an Open Day at the Vauxhall Heritage Centre Luton this Sunday 10th April -it would be nice to see as many of you as can make it.
It would be good to have a good showing of HBs to mark the 50th Anniversary :P

I'm hoping to be there in the HC Estate, if it makes it that far!

Having tried to set my SatNav for Park Road Luton - as indicated on the VBOA instructions and find there is no such road  - After looking on googlemaps it seem that it should be Park Street - so beware

As it was a nice day I decided to take my GT for a trip.... And that was mistake. Ended up being recovered back home after missing and popping. Tried all the usual but only basic tools with me sadly.
May be lack of use but booking it in for a check over and tune up as back working full time now.

Sorry to here the GT played you up Nev - was looking forward to meeting you face to face - B-Bumble - the Brabham didnt put a foot wrong for 250 miles of which 200 were motorway  - took the previous owner and coincidently met up with more previous owners 8) - they confirmed he had a big valve head and when new didnt have the white stripes - only the Brabham badge on the back of the boot.

Other club cars included Dave Swan with his newly acquired Red HA SL 90
- Carl Edgoose with his Black Magnum Coupe (and all 4 tyres still on the rims  )

- John Knight from the VDC in his low miler HA SL - That well known Firenza Sport SL GRD 4L -

My biggest surprise was to see the "Strawberry Farm" pickup which has been fully restore regardless of cost by the standard of presentation

I liked the Pick-up, and the Brabham. It was good to meet you Fred, even if it was only briefly. Maybe I should've brought my estate over to make that corner a bit scruffier.
