Thank you!
Sorry, no number plates in Austria on unregistered cars.
You only get number plates if the car has valid registration, insurance and you are paying taxes.
There was much progress in the last weeks.
Sadly we didn't get the SL90-engine running, after getting new seals and oil we only got 4 bar at the compression test. I think it would need new piston rings and we ain't got enough time for that.
So we got the low compression engine in, fitted the header of the HC and got it running fairly well. Needs some better ignition timing and carburettor-settings, but that's the plan for the next weekends in addition to the electrics and cosmetics.
We replaced the (in Austria hard to get) Viva Headlights with ones from VW Golf Mk1 and made a custom grille, welded up the roll cage out of 42x2,3mm mild steel, an exhaust with a side pipe and made a console for the old racing seat. Skid plates in the front and back made from 3mm Aluminium.
The fuel tank got derusted and sealed, new fuel lines inside the cabin. The additional spraying unit for the windscreen with 20 liter container got fixed to the roll cage.
The SL90 front axle with disc brakes is working fine, the rear brake calipers were rebuilt and new brake lines all over.
Some additional LED-headlights were installed and the original chrome-bumpers got replaced by stronger steel tubes.
We moved the air filter into the cabin because of the dirt on the track and put a giant pod filter onto
