No, and the only safe way is to do it with the engine out too. Some have claimed to be able to do it by just jacking up the engine to allow the sump to be removed but that entails some dodgy practices to support the engine.
As the gearbox and flywheel have to be removed anyway it makes sense to slip the engine out and do it properly and safely.
