Broken front Spring

Postby Fred Dukes » Wed Apr 27, 2022 6:13 pm

A few weeks ago whilst going into town with the red HC estate (Humpy) there was a hell of a bang from the front suspension and it felt like I had fell in some enormous pothole. It became apparent when checking under the car that the o/s front spring had broken!
I spent a few happy hours today fitting a replacement. This is the damaged spring which has completely sheered into two parts

Strange for it to break in the middle, most I've seen break close to the bottom

maybe it had a flaw in the metal - I went back to where it happened and I couldn't find a pothole :?
